Applying the Word, through Wordkeeping is more valuable than any amount of money, fame or possession you could acquire. The precious Word of God is the greatest prize available to man. It will help save our own souls, and the souls of many who are under our influence, especially our children. What could be more precious than that! Wordkeeping is laying up treasure in heaven, because it lifts our thoughts, desires, and interest to heavenly these, and readjusts our priorities, plans and purposes so that we will carry out God’s perfect will for us.
It is a horrible tragedy to neglect the Word, and in its place,
read a worthless novel, or watch a trashy movie! More than that, it’s even a
tragedy to neglect the Word for a good book, or a good movie! There is
absolutely no excuse for neglecting the Word.
Isn’t it enough to read the Bible once? “Then said Jesus to
those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my
disciples indeed;” John 8:31. Here He’s talking about perseverance. Continuing
to keep the Word in our minds means that we must keep it fresh, keep ingesting
it.
Every text you add to your mind is precious, valuable raw material that you in faith are putting into the soil of your heart. You are trusting God to take that seed, and cause it to germinate, exploding into spiritual life in your heart. The supernatural thoughts and actions that result are priceless treasures of God’s doing, bring glory to Him. Self is left out of the equation, there is no self-praise or congratulation. God is using the earthen vessel to produce a rich harvest of precious fruit. What an blessed privilege we have of becoming gardens for the seed of the Word. Let’s diligently plant the seeds!
What does this mean to you: “The flesh profiteth nothing. The
words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”? Jesus is trying to helps us understand the
value of taking in the Word, and making it a part of us. Every thought and
decision is to be shaped by the Word. The flesh, our thinking process, without
the Word, is of NO value! I repeat, Absolutely NO value! That is heavy! If I
have not taken the Word into my being so that it guides every thought I think,
then I am wasting all my God-given energy in whatever I am pursuing.
If we imagine that we are too busy to Wordkeep, all we are doing
is fleshly works in all our busyness. We must take time to Wordkeep, every day!
If you starve your soul, how can it function? Only the flesh can operate then,
and that is WORSE than WASTED time.
We have spent 21
days examining the benefits and value of Wordkeeping. It is my prayer that
these truths become lodged in your heart, so that you will continue to pursue
God’s Word with fervor, for the rest of your life. This is the secret of
success and prosperity for your life. Remember Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law
shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and
night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:
for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success.”
If you have time
to eat, you have time to Wordkeep. (Job 23:12) What did Jesus say when He was
tempted to make bread out of stones? “It is written….” You finish it. And Jesus
likened Wordkeeping to eating His flesh and drinking His blood. We must have
that nourishment for our souls. What did he say if we don’t? “Except ye eat the
flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.” NO
LIFE!!!!
If you have time to take a shower, you have time to Wordkeep. We
must keep ourselves clean on the inside, even more than on the outside! Every
day we need to take an internal shower with the Word, so that we will be clean
from all filthiness within.
That he might sanctify and
cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, Ephesians 5:26
Now ye are clean through the word
which I have spoken unto you. John 15:3
Having therefore these promises,
dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and
spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse
first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be
clean also. Matthew 23:26
With a clean mind, strengthened and equipped with the Word, Satan
will not have any power over us. Determine to Wordkeep today and
every day for the rest of your life. The more you do it, the easier, and more
enjoyable it becomes. You are in the process of transferring it from paper to
your heart. When it’s in your heart, you will Wordkeep during the night, during
stressful times, yes, continually. A Wordkeeper will “Let Christ’s Word dwell
in you.” The promise of God is “If ye abide
in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be
done unto you.” That’s powerful!
Thank you so much for
sharing these 21 days with me. It is my prayer that Wordkeeping has become a
firmly established habit in you life, and that you will continue to keep God’s
Word all the days of your life! I’ll meet you in heaven!
